- Wheelchair locks should always be applied upon entry or exit of chair.
- Never reach for items on floor or below level of feet.
- Never attempt to “jump” curbs while in chair.
- If steep grades are unavoidable, another capable person must be available to assist in the control of the chair.
- Back down steep ramps or grades with the assistance of a capable person.
- Inspect wheelchair weekly for wear and contact your equipment provider in the event of problems.
- Remove leg rest prior to lifting into vehicles to lessen the weight to avoid strain.
- Contact your equipment provider if you have other questions relating to your wheelchair safety.
