PREPARATION:
Your lift chair has been designed to provide you with years of comfort and enjoyment.
Please remember that it is not a toy and children should not play on it.
Your lift chair operates on standard household current. Simply plug your chair into a properly wired outlet.
Your lift chair requires an 18-inch clearance between the back of the chair and wall or other obstruction in order to recline comfortably. Once the position of the chair has been determined, the leveling legs under the chair should be adjusted for stability. For safety reasons the chair should be positioned where you can easily access a phone, should the power fail while you are in the chair without anyone to assist you.
DURING A POWER FAILURE THE CHAIR WILL REMAIN IN THE POSITION THAT IT WAS IN AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. HOWEVER YOUR CHAIR IS EQUIPPED WITH A BATTERY POWERED BACKUP SYSTEM. TWO 9 VOLT BATTERY TERMINALS ARE LOCATED ON THE MOTOR CONTROL BOX AND ARE ACCESSED FROM THE TWO BATTERY SLOTS PROVIDED. THE BATTERY BACKUP IS LIMITED IN LIFT CAPACITY, BUT IT WILL ALLOW FOR THE OPERATION OF THE CHAIR FROM RECLINE TO A SEATED POSITION IN THE EVENT OF A POWER FAILURE. BATTERIES ARE NOT INCLUDED AND REQUIRE PERIODIC REPLACEMENT.

OPERATING YOUR LIFT CHAIR:
If you require or desire assistance maneuvering into a seated position, push the UP button until the chair fully rises. Lower yourself onto the seat and push the DOWN button. The chair will lower you into a comfortable sitting position. To recline the chair, continue to push the DOWN button and release it when you have reached your desired position. When you wish to get out of the chair, push the UP button. The chair will return to a seated position and gently lift you to a secure standing position. Once you have reached a point where you feel confident enough to stand, release the UP button.
Never drop into the LIFT CHAIR if it is only partly raised.
CAUTION: DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO PLAY ON THIS MECHANIZED FURNTURE OR OPERATE THE MECHANISM. THE LEG REST FOLDS DOWN ON CLOSING SO THAT A CHILD COULD POSSIBLY BE INJURED. ALWAYS LEAVE IN AN UPRIGHT AND CLOSED POSITION. KEEP HANDS AND FEET CLEAR OF MECHANISM. MAKE SURE ELECTRICAL CORDS ARE NOT RUBBING OR PULLING AGAINST ANY PART OF THE CHAIR. ALWAYS MAKE SURE NO CHILDREN ARE BEHIND THE CHAIR WHEN LOWERING.
